This started as a way to stay in touch w/ my family/friends in MN when I moved, then morphed into my personal outlet after discovering I'm an autism mom. I do talk about other stuff...sometimes....maybe...

greenies
Wow, I have a friend that is super green. No, really. This person is so green it scares me. I mean, I know we are all supposed to go green, and protect the environment, and save our resources, and blah blah blah...but this goes FAR beyond that. Everything out of him is so green-pc that it makes me start to have anti-green thoughts just to balance it out. For example, if someone should start to go on and on about global warming and CO2 emissions...I just want to go start spraying aqua-net at them and start tossing my yoplait containers in the woods w/o crushing them first and tossing 6-pack plastic ring-thingies into the Alaskan coast-line all while laughing like a maniac!
IT'S LIKE A KNEE-JERK REACTION!!! I CAN NOT HELP IT.
(I am so wrong)
Am I the only one like this? I saw some British video about people who weren't green getting blown up. I thought I'd be the secret rebel, and SAY I'd do something green, and then go chop down a rain-forest.
Here is that commercial...thanks to Mike K. for posting it on FB...it describes to me the very worst of the green movement, and embodies why I must rebel against the greenies.

Well...there it is.
Just finished a pharm quiz on anticoagulants...yayee.
So busy just now, it's driving me crazy.
Bub's getting over some wierd tummy virus that gave him diarrhea w/o a fever. I think Joe's next and me too if I'm not careful. I just keep eating my vitamins and plow on.
I have a HESI for foundations on Thurs (HESI is a hugely hard and crabby standardized test that we HAVE to get a 850 or higher on....bleah....) Next week I have pharm exam #6, Pharm lab practical, and Pharm HESI. BLEAH!!!
But! after that there is only finals and clinicals before Christmas break...so I need to hang on until then cuz the end is nigh.
Anyhow.
Loves to you all!
N.
PS- Mom & Dad, incase I don't get a chance to call this wk (studying vs sleeping) I got the apples and they are yummy! I was so glad you ran into Mike & Bobbi too! I hope you gave them a big hug for me!!!!!! NUBS!

Tribute to Susan Predoehl
So...
as I was driving to my Chemistry test, I was listening to my His People 91-92 tape, and the last song is an arrangement Mr. Dicke made for "Jesus let us come to know you" that Susan had a solo part for. And as I was listening to it, I thought, "MAN, she has such a pretty voice...why didn't I ever notice that before?" (this is 10+ years since I first heard it)
Then I started to remember and think about Susan. She was, hands down, the most encouraging and kind person I have ever known in my life.
In my freshman year, when I was trying SO hard to be good in track, she was the only person that would stick with me during our practice runs out in the streets of a certain suburb where people drove AWFULLY fast down county rd B-C. She stuck with me in the slush and crappy-icy streets when she could have finished her 5-mile run already. No one else would slow down enough to stick with me the first couple of weeks before my time started to go up.
She was ALWAYS smiling, and trying to be helpful. I can not remember ever hearing her say anything negative about anyone.
Then she came to visit me after I moved back from the east coast before she moved to CA, and then I lost touch with her. So sad. :(
Why is it that when we are really young, we don't have the wisdom to see the value in people? Why is it that as a teen I was SO preoccupied with stupid people that were completely out of my life within 5 years? Why is it that I only appreciate some of the best people that ever wandered into my life after they have wandered out of it?
Why did I think some of the worst people that were in my life at that time were so fascinating?
*sigh*
Liz wrote me that she turns old next month.
I wonder if that is what is happening to me (after I wrote back and told her she's being silly), and that's why I'm waxing philosophical, waning sense.....
Anyhow; Susan, even if you never see this....you are the most kind and encouraging person I have ever known, and I wish I could be more like you. :)
Now- for my Mom, another bub photo!

FYI- this balloon didn't lose it's buoyancy for 2 weeks, that's right 14 days. I have never seen a standard He balloon (not the metallic kind) last that long.
Bub loved it. :) It helped him get thru his ear infection. He'd hold the string and kind of pull and punch it and watch it go up & down with a sad, kind of pathetic smile that made me hug & kiss him and tell him he'd get better soon.
*sigh* and now he is! Yayee!
Nbub!

Remembering friends
Today as bub naps, I started to work on Christmas cards...instead, I found my -small- collection of our friend Mike Daly's watercolor print cards. I love his work. Out of everyone's art in the co-op (except for Joe) his was my favorite. When Bub was especially crabby, we would walk up & down the hall on the 5th floor & look at Mike's paintings. Bub just loved how colorful they were & loved just staring at them. They always calmed him down. If you get a chance, check his website!

Some of his new paintings are breathtaking.
Must return to cards....must.

So sad...I missed it.
This was the album of my youth. I have had this sucker memorized since I was 4. I am making mr. man listen to it =ALL= the time. We dance to the "Brothers & Sisters song". I sing the "when I grow up" Song and cry by the end of it. I am constantly letting Hubby & Bub know what kind of "Help" they are really providing. (see thankgiving post)

It was on TV land at 10 am on Sunday. We forgot to set up a tape before we left for Church.
I have only seen the movie once in my life. That was in 3rd grade @ Dayton's Bluff. Everyone thought it was too baby-ish & made fun of it. I was so sad. I had to pretend not to like it too.
And now, when I have come to the point of my life where I embrace my inner nerd, (HELLO...I refer to myself as "muppet-head"...anyone have any doubts??????) I missed my chance to see it.
To make matters worse, they had "That Girl" on all day, and I got sucked into it a bit b/c I was hoping they would do a repeat, but I was thwarted.
On the plus side, Jeff Dunham was on Comedy central.
I still love peanut! "Nnnneyying" For those of you who really read this...I met him!!! at the state fair YEARS ago. Really brief. I don't think he was very big then. I think this was when I was in HS, bc I think I remember Laurie was with me....
THEN a few years later, Tina bought me tickets to see him at the Guthrie, before it became glitzy. that was when she was my friend.

****sad reflection time***
I sometimes miss Tina. Ross will call me stupid & flick my nose, but she could be a really wonderful friend at times. I tried talking with her a few years ago & we had NOTHING to say to each other. we were both trying, but we were at such different places in our lives & too many things had been said over the years, or not said enough.
I digress.
must dash, it is sleepy time. Glad my parents made it safe to CA! :)
Love to all!

Tricycle
Today we tried to talk with Grammy & Grampy on the phone, but Mr.Man was too busy to talk, so Momma did the talking for him. Grammy was excited to know that the Bub is learning the concept of "tricycle" He understands that his feet on the petals will move him, but the whole handle-bar thing isn't there. It's quite funny to watch the Bub go in little circles or bang into the wall because nothing is happening with the handle-bars to direct him. - but if you look closely, there is a little bell on there. We have a little game...Momma says, "Can you make the bell go 'BING'?" (does the question mark go before or after the quotation mark at the end of a sentence????) *puff* then the bub RUNS to the trike and bings the bell. then we clap hands & say "yayee!" Then we get a few gratutious bings just for fun...and then the random bings...etc....
Then when we talked with Grampy, Lil bub started acting up because we were well past snack-time...what a travesty. So while taking with Dad, I set Bub up with his current favorite; waffle & 'nilla yogurt with frozen blueberry dessert! Here he is with yogurt & blueberry face as requested by Grampy. Fortunately you are spared the shot of "cram-all-berries-in-my-mouth -like-a-chipmunk-so-no-one-else-will-want-them-then-spit-them-out-to-enjoy-one-at-a-time"I get to clean that up everytime we have frozen-blueberry-dessert-treat. Love the ones that make it to the floor....
Also exciting was going with Grandma & Momma in Grandma's "truck" to pick up one of my nieces. That was fun. When she got in the car, Mr. Man was so excited he offered her his choco-sippy. She wisely declined as choco-sippy after visiting the mouth of bub is not altogether appetizing. But Boy-oh-boy does mr.man love going for a ride!
Finally, even tho I am a few hours early. MUST MUST MUST say Happy Birthday to my friend Melissa. Hope you get to go bowling! bowl a gutter ball for me! hehehehehehe. And yes you were always right, I am -that- kind of mom. *grin*
Talley-ho!
